When I visited London Lumiere Festival in January 2016, I enjoyed a meet-up with some photography friends. We spent all Saturday evening/night shooting.
We took a shortcut from one installation to another. This photo opportunity was right there in the alley. He stood outside a window looking in with hope in his face.
I love this because it conveys a story of loneliness, cold nights and hunger to me. I feel that the minimalist composition and light in his face underline this.
Even though it was totally dark the window lit up his face. I captured this moment handheld with my Nikon d610 DSLR and Tamron 24-70 mm.
