Angel in the fields pub | London 2016

Loneliness – Why I love this picture

Angel in the fields in London is one of the good old English pubs. I had a drink there together with some colleges when this man came in. He was alone, had some shopping bags and ordered a small drink.

He sat down on a high chair against the wall and enjoyed his drink – still alone. Was it loneliness or just a thirsty guy I witnessed? I just had to capture that moment…

As usual I shot this handheld and candidly with my Nikon d610 and Tamron 24-70 mm. Post processed in Lightroom with a slight tone to underline the mood in the pub.

In his face there is something between happiness and sadness… He looks somewhere but he is not there, for a few moments steals from his day at there, to be with himself. I loved too this photograph, If I were there I would have liked to take his picture too. Thank you, Happy New Year, Love, nia

  2. Think I have done this myself a few times if it was a warm day outside. I would be walking back home and have a few items to do when I would get there. Stopping for a quick cool drink and thinking about the day ahead. Just delaying the inevitable.
So looking at the peoples dress and the light reflection on the person in the back ground I would say it was warm and he nipped in for a quick one.
Good photograph that caught the moment
